While Christmas shopping this year, I came across some nifty looking whiskey wedges. Of course, they serve a functional purpose too – basically keeps your drink chilled without watering it down (too fast anyways) – but I was more enthralled with just how awesome your favorite spirits look in contrast to the wedge of ice! There’s just one problem…you have to invest in a new set of glasses in order to utilize this cool new device.  At nearly $20 a pop, I figured there had to be a better solution. Enter the ice wedge tray by Copewood!

My dad recently dropped off a load of scrap hardwood flooring, and it turns out that a 5″ wide piece of #1 common hardwood flooring works out perfectly for making your own custom ice wedge tray. Check out the video and plans below to see just how easy it is!

Oh yeah, talk about a GREAT gift idea too!
